Hello,
The front boot on my car is uneven - tight up against the driver's side fender and leaving a large gap on the passenger side, and also slightly bent toward the driver's side. I think it was caused by the bra I used this winter, since it was not this way last summer and I have not been in an accident. Has anyone straightened one of these. I assume you loosen the four nuts on the hinges. Is it a very tricky process? Any tips or thoughts? Thanks.

I can't imagine a bra doing this. Are you sure that the lid was not forced down on some oversized luggage? If this wer mine, I would probably take it to a good body shop. I will tackle almost anything mechanical, but have had bad luck with body stuff.

Tom;
It is not for the faint of heart, but while the hood is open, position yourself near the hood hinges and push the hood laterally. You will have to have a helper to constantly hold the hood. Be careful not to over muscle the hood. However, it will take some force to re-adjust.

Also try adjusting the round rubber stops that the bonnet rests against (at its front corners). They are threaded and turning them raises and lowers them. This has the effect of centering the bonnet.
Cause, almost certainly a ding. Take a look on the underside of the bonnet and ensure no creases on the ribs.

Thanks for the help. I know it sounds strange, but I know the car has not been dinged, and I'm almost positive it was the bra (or, more accurately, my improper use of the bra). Each time I closed the bonnet, the material on the left would be caught in the seam, and the material on the right would slip above the seam, forcing the bonnet to the right. I should have been more careful.
