Default Suggestions for a good track setup

I have a modified suspension already, however it's not the best track setup. I'm ready for a good upgrade, does anyone have any suggestions? I've looked at the cross suspension package that my local guy suggested, but I have no clue really.

Here's a link to the cross suspension

I have heard the Cross is good but we don´t see it so much here in the UK (at least not to my knowledge). I would search the archives as this has been discussed to death...several times...

There was an article in the March 2004 PCA Panorama on 964 track preparation, that may help. If you aren't a PCA member, its on the web here

Shall I add: "DO A SEARCH!"

I've heard good things about the Cross setup from my mechanic. He's been working on 911 racecars for a few decades, now, and doesn't endorse cheap solutions or shortcuts. Apparently, they are a very good alternative to the Motons or PSS9's.

I prefer the JIC-Cross to PSS-9's. They have more adjustability, come with camber plates, and have real "clicks" so you know what the hell you are doing when trying to adjust them. I have the JIC-Cross on my 964 and PSS-9s on my 993. While Moton's may be better, until I learn enough to be able to use all that adjustability, they are not worth the extra cost to me.

I have the PSS-9 right now. They are a bit soft for me and I dont like the progresivness of the springs.

Tell you what, IF you could be bothered to do a search you would have found my reply MUCH more helpful than these other kind folks on here....there honestly is so much on this subject that you could read for a year....

I am sorry that you are too lazy to find out how helpful I really am....

Christer, I'm a little surprised at you because I've always enjoyed reading your witty posts. Things do change you know and new products come out, opinions & experiences change so while you may enjoy posting unhelpful & rude comments other people don't enjoy them. Driving on a track is a little different than a suspension setup for driving around London at 5mph.

If you dont want to be helpful or friendly, then why post - or do you enjoy conflict?

It's the subsidized dental care, it makes them a bit "testy" over there at times...

Jerseybean

I am sorry you have taken offence, but I would just repeat that as we discuss this every week almost that the knowledge in the archives is not going to be THAT out of date...perhaps a few days or weeks......

I would like to also like to point out that I made a comment on the Cross suspension, followed by a well-meant suggestion to search the archives (one that I still repeat and would stand by), however it was only when you thanked someone for their helpful comments únlike other people´that I made a retort. If you are going to be sarcastic then I would expect an affectionate back-lash. Now we are off on something that is not worth anyone´s effort. I look forward to being "unhelpful and rude" next time you disregard advice and then become sarcastic about it

I mean, HAVE you searched the archives?

p.s. I actually reached a top speed of 14mph the other day - the fastest this year.....so I resent your comment about 5mph...

Sarcastic comments are a British trait (born and bred in Jersey CI).

Hi Bill,
Great article... I've read it many times. Does anyone know where those metal floor board sheets can be purchased? My foam floor is getting pretty chewed up.

Thanks,
