Post Bump Steer??

Another SC to C2 question. My SC was lowered and experienced a fair amount of bump steer as a result. If I lowered my C2, with HR Sport Springs and Bilstein Sports, would it too experience bump steer, or is this a condition found only in lowered torsion bar suspension cars?

I am really enjoying the C2 suspension and steering - what a difference from the SC. However, I think I would have to back to the Green Run Group just to get used to the power steering on the track.

Chuck:

I don't think there would be a bump steer problem with the C2, unless the power steering contributes. I have a RSA (no power steering) lowered with H&R springs and with Bilstein shocks. It does not have a bump steer problem that I can feel. I did install a bump steer kit after lowering my '88 911 about 1", however.

The Euro 964 RS is 50 mm lower than a USA 964 car with no change in the parts that would change bump steer, so bumpsteer geometry must not be as much of a problem in the C2 as in earlier 911´s. I don't notice any problems in my lowered C2, my 914/6, which had similar to an early 911 front suspension, needed bump correction when it was lowered though. <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />
