Smartgroups flywheel survey...your input is needed!
The original Freudenberg flywheel installed in some of the 964s has a reputation for being unreliable. To find out how unreliable it is, as well as to see how well the LUK replacement and after market light weight flywheels do as replacements, a survey has been created on the 964 Smartgroups website. As much input as possible will only make the survey that much more accurate, and as of today, we only have about forty responses.
To take the survey, you must become a Smartgroups member, but there is no cost. This is a U.K. based site, but many of the "regulars" who visit this site also visit Smartgroups. If you would like to take the survey, point your browser to:
http://www.smartgroups.com/groups/964porsche
and follow the instructions. When you've become a member the web browser should show a "vote" option to the left of the web page. You can take the survey by clicking on "vote" and then following the links. You can also view the results for some of the other surveys including the survey that goes over the cylinder head leakage issue.
Please take the survey as we will be able to gain a better idea of the lifespan of ALL types of flywheels.

Unfortunately, SmartGroups has has server probs since Monday.
If you have had trouble visiting and completing the survey, please check back in a couple of days when the massive mail backlog they have should have cleared.
Sorry,
John
