Default 993tt big reds with rotors and pads

I have a set of 993tt big reds left over, I'm planning on selling them on ebay but have no clue what I should put them up for? These are brand new in the box, along with rotors and pads.

Check Performance Products and see what they sell the big red kits for...subtract rotor and pads price and you'll get an idea what the calipers run. Or call your local Porsche dealer to find out what they list for.

The list price for the fronts are $603.22 from the dealer. You can usually find a dealer that will give you 20-25% off so that should give you an idea of what you'd need to pay for new ones.

I believe Steve Weiner from Rennsport Systems mentioned that they are NLA from Porsche due to Brembo tooling issues.

FWIW, I purchased a set last month and the dealer had a hard time getting them.

FWIW, a BIG Red setup like this should fetch OVER $1,000...but do you have the adapters?? ...if not, that's $150-$200 with shipping et al that the buyer would have to spend additional...but if you DO have the adapters, you call the shots!

I have a setup as well that I need to list, NO rotors, but with adapters. FYI, the 965 rotors that a 964 uses when converting to BIG Reds are only about $120 each from the dealer...the price dropped dramatically about two years ago.

BIG Red calipers are commanding about $400 each right now, they are hard to get!

Not to sound negative, but, you should consider posting them in the Rennlist Classifieds before you attempt to sell on Ebay.

You have to pay a percentage to Ebay, plus a listing fee, and if you accept PayPal, then they will also demand a percentage. On top of all that, those Ebayers who are bidding on Porsche parts are looking for them to be cheap. I've tried selling Porsche parts on there and it turned out to be a waste of time. Actually had people email me, to say that they had seen the same parts a week earlier sell for a fraction of what I was asking..... how depressing.

For what it's worth the front rotors on the 94 turbo are selling for about $165 each (FVD). I just bought a set and it was the best price I could find. The dealer wanted $250 list minus PCA discount.

I am interested in the fronts for my GTS and possibly making a swap for the rears, let me know what you are asking for them.

FWIW 928 specialists have the big red fronts listed for $466.50 ea new part numbers 993.351.425.10 & 993.351.426.10 they are the same as the GTS front calipers which are painted black instead of red. The price for the big blacks is only $349.00 new p/n 928.351.423.03 & 928.351.424.03

The big blacks are not as fancy as the Big reds but for $117.50 saved per caliper you get the same performance and can always paint them red later.

BTW if I am not mistaken aren't you better off buying the big reds from a 94 turbo (whiich are different and require a different pad for upgrading the 964 and if you upgrade the rears you will loose your hand brake. I believe the rear 964 caliper is the same as the rear on the 94 turbo. Just upgrading the fronts should prove to be worth enough. The brakes on the 94 turbo are all most drivers will ever need the difference between this setup and the 993TT setup is probably negligable slightly more rear heat discipation but no real additional stopping power.

Just a thought.

If these are the fronts then they should be part numbers 965.351.425.10 and 965.351.426.10 because they are axially mounted. These would be the same calipers as I have on my 94 turbo. I was looking for the radially mounted 993TT calipers which is the same part number beginning in 993 instead of 965. Can you verify this for me. I must also assume that the front rotors are the 965 part number?

If you can send me the info I would appreciate it.

thanks
