Talking RSA VINs

There may be some RSA owners who use this forum and not rennlist. So I will ask this question here. This is for 1993 and 1994 model year RSAs only. I need your serial numbers guys and gals. There seems to be two serial number sequences for model year 1993. 418 and 419. I need to try and establish the range of serial numbers and if possible the difference, if any.
On the Speedster question. I have a documenent from PAG saying Speedsters were built in Model Years 1993 and 1994 and a book which backs this up. I have a document from the PCNA saying that they were only built in Model Year 1994 and two other books which back this up.
PAG is backed up by a book published here in Europe and the PCNA is backed up by two books published in the USA. All claim to have used Porsche records. I defer to the owners to help me.
Ciao,
Adrian

Adrian,

WP0AB2966PS418045, 3/92.

You may also wish to contact Keith Verlaque since he runs the rsamerica.net website and has already compiled some of the data you seek.

Dear Rich,
I have done that already. I amtrying to keep things apart to remain independent.
Thanks for the VINs.
Both those above are built in the 1992 model year but have 1993 year VINs. This is somewhat crazy by Porsche. Looks like the USA 1993 model year started in March or even earlier in 1992.
I need to find out if this was only for the RSA or others were included.
A Porsche built in March 1992 should have N not P as the 10th digit,
Ciao,
Adrian.

Adrian-Info supplied to me by Porsche for an article I wrote some years back, claimed that the initial RSA cars all had "P" series VIN numbers but 240 cars were built before the August 1992 "work holiday" when Porsche would normally have converted to building "P" series cars. These 240 cars built before August 1992 have "18" beginning the serial number and have "N" series 1992 engines. So there is a "P" chassis and an "N" engine for these 240 cars. The cars built after the holiday have "19" before the serial number and have "P" series 1993 engines. I think this is correct and helps you out.

Now that is what I have been looking for, thanks. The serial number ranges are important.
Thanks again. It seems that March 92 is the earliest build RSA with a P series VIN. I have a Sep 92 build with a 419 serial number and P series VIN.
Ciao,
Adrian
