Eating/drinking in the car is not a problem. The problm is other drivers. Driving to work the other morning on the M4, I looked over to my left and there was a woman in a brand new Ford Ka doing 70 miles per hour with her face up next to her rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner!
I looked away for a couple seconds and when I looked back she was halfway over in my lane, still working on that damn makeup!!! It scared me so badly I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the bacon butty out of my other hand. In all the confusion of trying to straighten out the car using my knees against the steering wheel, I knocked my mobile phone away from my ear which then fell into the coffee between my legs and disconnected an important phone call.

a table???
I guess you also think a bed is just for sleeping.
To my european porsche rennlist board members--- Please have a hot drink on your cold winter morning while driveing to work so that you are happy about the sex you had in your bed that hopefully you barely got sleep in.

I've had my cupholder longer than I've had my Porsche. In fact, we've been together for over 20 years. I once thought of getting a new cupholder, but discovered that having two cupholders can be quite hazardous to one's health and can be extremely expensive if, by chance, the two cupholders become intertangled. In fact, if I were to get rid of my current cupholder, the Porsche would likely go with it so I'll keep my cupholder or just not drink in the Porsche.

I've tried a few options and I agree with Andy's response (the first one) that the door pocket is a solid alternative. A 20 oz. bottled soft drink fits perfectly and I have a tapered hot cup which wedges in just right. The only concern is a sudden stop so proceed at your own risk.
I used to have a car phone mounted to the right of the shifter and it was definitely an inconvenience for passengers. I imagine that installing another accessory in the same area would pose similar problems. Perhaps not.

Obviously the answer is:
the wife, girlfriend, navigator, Grizzly bear, life partner or whatever is politicially correct in your neck of the woods to have in the passinger seat.
For holding the cup I mean !!

My lovely co-pilot likes to have water or iced tea on our Sunday afternoon cruises, and if I'm driving for more than an hour, I usually like to have coffee or water so I'm going to try one of these:

+1 for the Beverage Bandit
Got the large Beverage Bandit and I like it! A very simple solution that you can move from car to car. The anti-cup holders will never know
