Looking for info on the Carrera Cup

$85,000 seems a bit steep, and advertising 300bhp does not sound correct...I have read 271 after Andial prepared, which this car is not. If you plan on racing or driver ed, you probably would still have to put money into it, and I'm not sure I understand the significance of the #1 car...I supposedly have the 44th white one (I never verified). Just some more things to think about.

I have to agree. This car is too expensive and who cares if its and andial car or not. My car is an andial car. I'm glad of that. The cars did have 300bhp published horsepower. There are some magazines that say all the engines were blueprinted and have more than the published amount, but 300 is stretching it.

If you want to get picky, this car has been modified. All the Cups came with paritial electric black leather seats. The seats in this car are from either from a speedster or a carerra RS. Also the cars didn't come with a strut brace or air ducts in place of the fog lamps. Who cares that it is #1, since the VINs are not in order, many can make a claim to what # there Cup is. Only the Andials, like mine, tell you what number it was. It is on the special plaque.

If you are going to track it, let me know. I can give you an idea of what you need to do.

The "number one car" is a little different than the other 44 cars. It was a pre-production example and has a few Euro RS details not included in the others. The trunk has the mount for the RS windshield washer bottle (but no bottle), it has all the mounts for the rear seats removed and had it's carpeting was carefully glued down solidly at the factory. These steps in production were deleted for the subsequent cars to save money and make the cars easier to convert into a racing car at Andial. <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

If you're right, and the PO modified the car and did not keep the original seats, etc., then it would be crazy to pay the huge premium for #1.

Nice car, though. I checked it out in person.

Be sure to have it checked out thourghly!!! these are incredible cars (I own #12) and are a blast to drive.
That's a good price.
Do you have the VIN - we can check the list. Also you might want to call Weldon Scrogham @ <a href="http://www.gandw.com" target="_blank">www.gandw.com</a> and talk to him, he has sold a good number of the Am Cup cars in the last 10 years and might have additional info on it.
it's not the red one - right?

Cupcar# 12, thanks! I looked at Weldon's website last week.

Even with the price of $75k for #1, I feel that the price is still too high in todays environment. After doing some asking around, the CC should fetch just a bit more than and RSA. I would be willing to pay between $50-60k.

i agree with you on that - the price should be in 55-65K for an example with miles on it (Mine has 20K now)and of course more for an undriven example (such as weldon has) it's all subjetive however and as in all things subjective to what the market can bare. I would offer 60K and see what happens for one, BTW i bought mine for slightly more than 60K with only 576 miles on the odo.
they are incredible cars which are sure to increase in value as time wears on (think +10 years) but in the mean time have fun with them and let the collectors worry about that.
they beg to be driven.
