Which track pads? Pagid, Hawk, Porterfield, PFC OR Carbotech?

Thanks, David. Good info.
The message I got from reading the white paper is to always bed in your pads ... even if they're used. I wasn't aware that adherent friction was the result of having the same material on both the rotor and pad, but now that I do, I can see how swapping compounds requires proper bedding in.
I guess life gets a lot easier when you find the brand you like and then stick with it (no pun intended).

Interesting comments. I did not see ay comments about the Pagid orange break-in procedure. If you do not follow their instructions precisely, the pads can leave a deposit on the rotor. That deposit is ultra-hard and caused the rotor to heat unevenly. Warped rotors are a common result. I switched to Hawk blue because of this. Hawk blue also do not squeal as bad as the Pagid orange.
I'll be interested to try Pagid yellow. Does anyone know if they require the same break-in procedure?

Strabo,
Pagid advises the same break in procedure for all of the racing compounds. I have always bedded them on the track without problems. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />
