Post My rear - update

Well, got the go ahead for the repairs, so the car's gonna be at Top Gun for at least the next three weeks. Serious withdrawal symptoms

I've opted for the RS rear bumper and am getting the front bumper resprayed while I'm at it, together with some 993 door handles and a rear roof-top spoiler.

In the meantime I've been given a Vauxhall Zafira by the insurance company. Umm, nice...

Why 993 door handles Phil? Does it just update the look of the car?

BTW 1st impressions of the Eibachs are very good - like you said; combination of good ride quality but flatter cornering. I'm sure I'm getting more understeer, which I guess is to be expected. Time for phase 2 maybe - RS anti-roll bar maybe..

My neighbour just fitted the RS middle section after reversing into a post in a bad temper.

Anyway his car does look good and the RS section didn't cost more than the original one. He had to buy new number plate lights though.

P.S. He was in the bad temper not the post.

I just like the look of the 993 handles.

Glad you like the Eibachs, Johnny

Phil

What's the total bill looking like? Are you contributing to it or is the insurance company paying for all?

I'd be interested to know what the costs are like for the additional work, as I have a few bits that need doing on mine. (Front bumper and bonnet in particular need respraying - stone chips...)

BTW Phil

Have you considered an anticle for 911&PW about Rennlist? The 911&PW readership are ideal for Rennlist. I'd be happy to contribute my views on what I think is the best forum on the web.

Feel free to quote me as the catalyst for the article if you do one!

Rob

I'm paying the additional bits, but they should be cheaper cos Marvyn's mixing the paint anyway. He suggested about £300 for the bumper - probably not the cheapest, but he is good, I'm told.

Nice idea about the article, I'll give it some thought.

Cheers

The RS antirollbars (there are 2 of them)
will increase understeer. Improves turn in though and they are adjustable once you get the feel for them.

SOrry- just seen your 'What I learnt' thread. This post should be over there...

Phil

How's the progress on the repairs? Do you know when you will be seeing Pcar again?

Hi Rob

I've been away a couple of days so need to check progress. I hope to have the car back within the next two weeks.

Watch this space!

Cheers

Phil
