Rear brake squeal
Hi,
Just changed my rear pads on my 91 C2. They both squeal terribly when comming to a stop. There was no squeal before changing. ( I know). There was a flat disk glued to each pad that had a tab that insetted into a bushing on each piston. The first brake I removed the caliper to get the pads out, but on the second I just used a knife to seperate the disk and changed pads without removing the caliper. Now I question if I should have left the bushing thing in the caliper. Is this a part of the anti-squeal disk or is it an intrigal part of the caliper ? Are these sticky disks available and should I use them ?
Thasnks again,
Tom

Well I just looked at the parts catalog (which I should have done first) and its called a "Damping plate and the bushing thingy is called a vibration dampner.
The pads I used were from Vertex and called "Textar" German Made

Adrain,
Thank you. I was afraid of that. Well I will have to call the local dealer and see if they have the dampning plates. It will require removal of the caliper, I guess, but already have done it to the first side.
Thanks again
