Hot start problem
Hi, to everybody on this board!
A few weeks ago my 1990 964 C4 showed up with the following problem: the engine starts perfectly fine every morning; however, when re-starting a few minutes or even an hour later, I have to give it two to four tries for firing it up again. Sometimes it seems to help when I turn the ignition key a bit slower than usual. I've changed the DME relay - yet the problem is still there. Would you please help, if you've had similar problems?

I had a similar problem about a year ago. The most commonly suggested culprit was the cylinder head temp sensonr. That was not the problem in my case. I had one bad coil and a flywheel position sensor that were bad. -2 problems Not two for the price of one, rather two for the price of many

I have posted a similar question about a week ago [Emission & Starter Headaches]. Adrian has also a post in the technical section.
I think it's the O2 sensor in my car, but I will know more tomorrow after visiting my garage.

Any result with the O2 sensor?
I've got the same problem that has returned. I'm sure the head temp sensor is okay (checked with a meter at various temps. changed DME relay, e.t.c.)
