964 Rear Spoiler
Hello all,
On recent 996s I see that there is an accordion-folded rubber "fence" underneath the rear spoiler to force the air flowing through the grid in the spoiler down into the engine compartment.
I got my car out of storage this morning, and checked to see if mine has the same rubber part, but it doesn't. Knowing the car's pristeen history, I'd be amazed if this piece of rubber is missing, but I just thought I'd double-check and ask the group.
As always, thanks for the help!
Marc

Marc:
The 964 (and 993?) series has a similar "fence" under the rear spoiler. But, the fence consists of flat plastic rather than an accordian type plastic.
It's quite common for this fence/air dam/rear spoiler wall to break and separate at the folding points, so maybe yours has broken and is not rising with the spoiler.
Good Luck,
Jay
