When the valve is in one piece you can see black rubber O ring. Does it seal something or is it just dust protection?

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I want to confirm that this "gutting" of the p/v can be reversed?

I got a set of '92-94 set of rear calipers for my '91 C2 and I'd like to try the bypass p/v to see if I can live with it prior to dropping coin on a 55 or 60 bar p/v.

Yes, absolutely - I removed the guts and kept them in a zip-lock.

No reason I can't just put them back in.
