Yes - almost every store (some of the smallest won't, and nor will WHS Travel (ie railway stations) for the first month or so). Also available in Tesco.
In theory, it will be available everywhere that the other P mags are.

And, indeed, places where the others aren't - Tesco being one

Great mag guys, but noticed another error in your car specs. 993 RS with 307mm front brake discs ? ( Mind you with only 200hp you possibly wouldn't need the 322mm ones normally fitted )

Mine showed up in Chicago last evening with the postman. Nice mag, I like the layout. Can't comment on much past the pictures as I was out playing with the car until sleepy-time.

Dear Rob and Phil,

VERY WELL DONE!!!!

I feel the photography is very good, the black photo's create a very mean and moody look...
Artistically very very good, especially considering this is your first issue. Haven't read it all yet, but i want to say that the first impression is very good!

Well done and Good Luck!!!

I feel these guys need our utmost support with anything that enhances the enjoyment of our passion for 911's, especially as they seem to understand 964's (not like another 'certain' mag that seems to like slag off 964's)
GO OUT AND BUY IT!!!
(ps, no, i'm not on commission!!!)

Just my two pennies...

Was due to get my 911 back today with its new suspension, but an outbreak of a virus in the garage has had the proprietor in hospital and several mechanics off ill, so work is backed up and my car is still in bits waiting for the oil tank to be re-mounted. Bah humbug!

Aw well, it being a lovely day, I dug my trusty old Honda Pacific Coast out for its first run of the year, and in so doing re-discovered another glorious, classic machine. What a joy to be back on two wheels. A trip to the newsagents finds me a copy of the brand new today "Total 911" so I head off to Leven beach, park up, buy an ice cream from Mr Dorianno in the old 1950's Ford van that has been there since I was a child, and settle down on a bench overlooking the shining sea, slurping ice cream, and reading about Porsches. Dammit but life can be good some days.

But ...phlaming pharmacicts ... wot's this I see? It's those pesky Boggiwotsits looking as smug as two bugs in a big beetle staring at me from the page. Jolly good article Mr B, most excellent, and I hope the magazine keeps up to this standard. Congrats to the RabyStone collective on a great first issue.

John H

... and my ice cream was delicious, just as I remember it every year since I was about 10 years old.

Called my local Barnes & Noble...nothing listed, however they do have TotalMG. Is it to be expected that it will be in the US already?

Incidentally I typed "Total911" into the barnes and noble site and it returned with:

How to Give Her Absolute Pleasure: Totally Explicit Techniques Every Woman Wants Her Man to Know
....Hmmm

Hi Rob,

I tried a couple of the major newsagents, specialist car magazine stores and distributors down here in Melbourne, but with no luck, so I've ordered a copy off your web site.

I look forward to reading it!

Regards

Picked it up from Smith's yesterday, but have just had a chance to skim through it with a beer in the garden after work. Life is good, John H

My first impressions?

I personally think the cover is very striking in black and silver, and the 996 portrayed as very menacing, a la recent audi adverts. Its a shame that the effect is spoiled slightly by the overdominant 'in your face' private plate.

Other good things: Layout looks nice, lush photography, and great to see a sea of text, suggesting some in depth thinking. Hard comparison figures between tested cars is good to see, too - I'd like to see more of that! Including a very early 911 would have completed the evolution theme.

I love the idea of diversity into other items/products sharing the 911 design philosophy/brand ethos, too - but a fire hydrant seemed a bit random at the end of a porsche mag? I'd love to see watches (speedmaster?), hifi (beolab 5?), bikes (cannondale?)
I should probably read the text before being too judgemental.

Minor bugs? I winced slightly at the reference to 'lesser Porsches' in the editor's intro..and I'm sure you are aware that the first issue was rather 964-heavy? Good news from where we're standing, of course..

I think the practice of finishing each article with a small icon - such as the magazine logo - finishes it off, nicely - instead of the reader turning the page, unsure if there's more.

I've often thought that the regular magazine format unavoidably spoiled the double page photos - such as your striking Ruf article opening picture (another example being the terrific shot of a C-GT's rear leaving traffic behind in this Month's Evo). Has anyone ever launched a magazine in landscape format?

Overall impression? The thinking man's Porsche mag.. keep up the hard/good work!

Phil,

If you've not already seen it, there is a small article about Total911 in the latest issue of Print Week. 35,000 copies is not bad for the first issue!

Johnny G

re: private plate - its not the owners reg number. The car's owner didn't want their reg number on show. The X 911 X plate is mine - my wife bought it for my last birthday. Unfortunately, since I sold my 964 to finance the publishing company....

Still, I hope to have another 911 some time in 2012 when we break-even!!

Just got mine last night. I've only had a chance for a couple of quick reads. First impression is excellent! I'll look forward to a variety of 911 info in the future!

Only recommendation is to get some better proof-reading. Not just the specs (that I've completely passed over), but some of the missed grammar and run-on sentences could have been avoided. ..and no "rea wheel drive" cars.

Still...great stuff. Keep it up!
