That bellows is a seal on the transmission, not on the lock. He is not leaking brake fluid, he said that he was leaking gear oil. I can't remember the part number, but they are #10 on the picture if I iirc. Are you leaking brake fluid or gear oil?

Got it. Good for him... one of those cylinders/lock - Pelican has it listed for US$721.50 - part number 928.332.775.12

For the bellow the part number is 928.332.051.02 and Pelican has it for US$62.50

Yep -- thankfully I was leaking gear oil only. I watched it for a few days to see if my brake fluid reservoir was dropping as well, but it wasn't. I ordered mine from Sunset, FWIW -- $55 or so? Shop around on the slave, you'll find it cheaper as well...

It's one of those things where it just has to be cheaper to find a fab shop to reman it.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. When installing the bellows, should I mount it on the transverse lock, or install it into the transmission?

Thanks in advance.

There is no bellows on the lock. When you have it out, look inside the trans, you'll see it in there. If that's not leaking noticeably once you have the lock out, don't touch it. No need to do anything there unless you are losing trans fluid.

I was losing transmission fluid. About a tablespoon a day. So I ordered a new bellows.

A friend's 964 is leaking trans oil from the lateral lock (how do I get sucked into this?). There is a small hole where it leaks from…see pic.

Resurrecting this thread it seems that you can simply replace the bellow. That said I note the WSM says if the bellow is torn then replace the lock! Thoughts, experience?

There will be more than only the bellow. You'll need to address the seals inside. Contact Ninemeister in the UK. They have a seal kit.

If it is only trans fluid, replace the bellows.

That hole is there to weep out the hydraulic fluid that weeps past the seals in the diff lock. A very small wetness is fine.
Replace the bellow and then if you have an actual leak in the diff lock, replace the seals in the diff lock.
