I haven't used the thing myself, so can't speak from experience, but almost everyone I know which has used Zymol recomends it. There must be something more to it than just cost (although I would debate the point in spending £1500 in one hair gel sized pot).
Soon (as in whenerevr I get round to it) I will buy the Carbon starter pack. At £80 its not too bad. I'd suggest you try start using that first.
Are you polisihing your car up for the Kings Rd Le Mans Style race?
Zymols product was once good. I have noted that it is just "not the same" any longer.
In my search I have found a higher quality (higher carnuba content as well) product. www.prestigecarcareproducts.com has "Victoria Red" wax that hands down beats all others.
It lasts, goes on easy, comes off easy, and feels & looks like no other.
Take it from me... Year 2001 Porsche Club of America National Parade Concours winner.
Guards Red.
The wild part about this wax is that you apply it to your car with your bare hand. That "melts" the product onto your car better.

OK, I have enough problems with my wife due to the amount of time I spend with my cars... now add to that giving the car a sexy, bare hands, massage with coconut oil, I mean carnuba. Talk about being one with your car. Wow!! I will try it just to see the look on her face!!!
Another place you can call/contact is http://www.carcareonline.com/index.html . The two times I have called they have been very attentive and have answered my questions to the last detail. They also have a lot of “How to”/tips on their web site.
I have used Zymols products since 1996. I find them to be great products. I do not participate in concours so maybe Michael suggestion is the way to go if you are heading that route.
I've been using Zymol wax products but not the expensive one you see in catalog.
Even though it is not as expensive as the top of the line Zymol but costs a little more than normal wax products (about $13- 20), and you can get them from Target or even Cosco.
I won my class, Wash and shine ii, at a local PCA Concours. Don't know how much was contributed from the wax or that I spent over 25 hours cleaning the car.
Definately follow the link on Jaime's post. I bought One Grand "Blitz Wax" and a bottle of 3M Imperial hand glaze from them. Those were the recommendations of Larry Reynolds at Car Care Specialties. Both of the these products cost less than Zymol and last longer. Use the 3M first and follow with the blitz wax. I have an 84 911 (black) with original paint and this combination really brings out the shine.
Don, great web site! I think is time to change to P21S. As soon as the car gets back from the shop I will need to give it some TLC. I will call the Larry and order was recommended in those pages... My only complaint with Zymoil is how difficult it is to remove... from reading on the site, P21S should provide a better finish and less work... sounds good to me (but I am still day dreaming of giving my car a good massage with the Victoria Red wax).
I've used a number of waxes inc. Zymol & Blitz. For an everyday wax Blitz is pretty good. The Zymol leaves a slightly smoother finish. The Zymol cleaner/way (inexpensive liquid) leaves a finish that is smoother than either of those two pastes. It does not last as long as Blitz. However, after reading the post of Michael B. (it's hard to pass up 46% Carnuba) I ordered the Victoria Red. Looking forward to using this product. Thanks for the info, Michael.
