Post respray costs

Having seen some immaculate cars owned by other board subscribers, I'm having thoughts about respraying my C2. The paint's a bit rough around the edges - its had a hard city life!

Having never had a car sprayed before I would love to know the costs involved - and also if anyone knows a good paintshop here in the UK that would be useful

Thanks

Rupert

I hear that good starts at $3,000 US and excellent is $5,000 US.

Rupert
There is a high quality body shop in Clapham, London run by Jonathan. They are expensive but extremely good - have oven etc. I've used them for repair to my Merc and was in there last week for quote to paint my C4 bonnet - he quoted but was honest enough to say 'why not just touch-up stone chips'. Worth getting them to quote.

Hi,
Rupert - if you do get a quote please post it here? I am also interested in a respray but have not asked for quotes because I would not get it done until the summer when I use the car less then anyway. It would be useful to know whether I can afford it though.

Hi,
Actually - I can answer it myself now. I put a dent in my car at the weekend, was just browsing the web page of the dealer I bought the car from and they highly recommend Langley Autocraft in Kings Langley. I'm in Kings Langley on Monday anyway for JZM to play with my car, so called Langley and will get a quote for my dent then. While I was on the phone I asked about a total respray and they said ballpark figure was £3K - as long as you're keeping the colour you've got now. Obviously can't comment on quality yet but Prestige and Performance (Firman) say they use them exclusively for all bodywork stuff.
