Which Steering Wheel do you have in your P-Car?

I have the Mod .07 wheel and love it, too. It's dished (concave) so the wheel sits closer to you by approx. 2". With the decreased diameter and the closer location, you never need to lift a shoulder off the seat to whip the wheel around--a very useful feature for autocrossing and track work.

Not to mention also that the MOMO 07 moves the steering wheel away from the turn signal and windshield wiper stalks so you can drive with gloves on and not turn on the #$@%^&^% wipers when you are going around the track!!!
Also suede gloves and a suede wheel make for an iron grip on the wheel <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

Neil,
Here's the answer to your question which, I see, disappeared whilst I was finding out!
I'm not sure how Momo measure the nominal size, but mine had a diameter of 320mm measured to the centre of the rim, or 350mm 'overall' diameter.

"You'll need to buy the $60 Porsche 9516 airbag tester, discard the $58 box, and hook up the airbag connector to the $2 resistors, which tells the computer the airbag is attached.
You can buy this from the dealer, and it will either fit in the steering column or you can pull it through and tie-wrap it to something under the dash. I would check with Reeves in Tampa, as they discount Porsche parts around 25%.
Also if you are putting in a Momo (and I assume any non airbag wheel) you will need a non airbag horn contact. P/N: 964.652.104.00. I purchased both parts from my dealer, under $10 each."

I have a 964RS and removed the original RS 4 spoke wheel ( keeping it of course !) and fitted a Momo 07 dished black suede covered wheel which is exactly the same as the factory motorsport wheel as in Cupcar's picture but of course without the Porsche logos and hornbutton motif. I had it fitted on a quick release hub which also bring the wheel in closer...this combined with the dish gives you a good short arm driving position - necessary in a Euro RS as no power assist. You can take the wheel out if you want as an extra car thief deterrent ! Very reasonable price - wheel less than 130 Euros - and looks good in a 964. Sorry no picture.

I'm switching this weekend to the Porsche 968 Clubsport three spoke non airbag wheel, which I've been told is the same as the 964 RS wheel. To manage the airbag light I'm switching my turn signal and cruise control assembly to an earlier pre airbag 944 assembly. (This wheel is the factory version of the AJ wheel mentioned above.)

O.K. I like the Momo Monte Carlo wheel, and would also like the additional extension provided by the adapting hub. How difficult is it to change steering wheels? I have done a search through the archives, and it seems like there is potentially some degree of adaptation required? Or is this only for when you go from an airbag to a non-airbag wheel? I have an '89, so I will be starting off "non-airbag". I do have cruise control. Is this just an exercise where you straighten the front wheels, pull off the old wheel (wheel puller not needed?), put on the hub adapter, hook up the horn wires, and bolt on the new wheel? I assume that the hub adapter has appropriate space to fit over the cruise control without adaptation, and will also provide turn signal cancellation? Any potential "gotchas" to look out for?
Thanks,
Tom
