911 on "Bad Boys" movie?
I just watched it tonight. Sweet car. It had some nice wheels too! Was it a 911 3.2 Turbo? Anyone know the year and model of that car?

Not sure about the exact year, but it was definitely a 964 Turbo (965). The early 965's retained the 3.2L engine from the prior turbo. The '94 model had a 3.6L turbo engine.
I thought the lines from the beginning of the movie were hilarious, when they're riding in the 911 and Martin Lawrence is eating a burger.
Lawrence: "What do you mean, you don't have any cupholders?"
Will Smith: "It's a limited edition."
Lawrence: "You're damn right it's limited."
Or something like that...

Hi,
I am searching for a other novie, where a gang steels a lot of 911's in the Beverly-Hills area and repaint them for a sale.
It's a movie from the late 80's where a undercover cop joins the gang to solve the case.
Anybody knows the name of that movie?
Nice day!

The 964 Turbo in 1991 was a 3.3 car.
In 93 it was reintroduced as a 3.6 car.
Most of the 3.6 cars can be identified quickly by the red brake calipers (although a factory option was around to keep them black) This was the case in the Bad Boys movie.
Also some of the 3.3 may have also had red calipers retro fitted by now.
Both are excellent cars but the 3.6 is harder to find.
3.3 = 320BHP standard
3.6 = 360BHP standard
By the way two different cars are used in the Bad Boy Movie we had a thread on this some time ago on the 964 turbo board.

Hey,
How about doing a list of movies with 911s in them....would be a great resource....need to update my DVD library anyway.
So we now have:
1) Bad Boys - 965
2) No Man's Land - 3.2 Carrera? 930?
3) Gone in 60 seconds - 996
4) Spy Game - 911S?
5) Flashdance - 930?
6) MI2 - 996 cab
7)
8)
All the ??s because I can't remember exactly which car was featured
There's this other one with a african american (skinny, funny, noisy guy) that was used as bait by CIA or something....his buddy stole a 965...

The reason for two cars was that the movie was partially shot and those scened were used to attract a financing deal.
When they got one they went back and shot some more footage. The opening car-jack scene was one of the new ones. The car they used for that scene was either the director's or producer's personal car.
Given that the black calipers were an option on the Turbo 3.6 it could've been one of those. I tend to think it was given the speedlines and the 0-60 time stated in the movie.

The movie "The Big Chill" (filmed in my hometown of Beaufort, SC) has a beat up 911 (or 912?) that one of the characters drives. It figures prominently in the early scenes.
