Indeed, thank goodness, and it's now shod with 17's fron the autojumble today. No 'G' pipe, but nearly bought a 'cup' pipe, will take advice tomorrow. Off to the kitchen now for a 4 hour stint. Cheers. Raymond

Let's just say - it was far from smooth.

So as the lights went green I had 6500rpm on the tach all of a sudden and I was readjusting it downwards whilst letting the clutch out. The clutch didn't really bite until the revs had died down a bit half a second later...and then we were off rather rapidly...I guess you could call it a rather hard launch (and slightly delayed).

To be fair with that amount of torque evrywhere in the rev range and a LWF you're going to have problems with fast take offs.
2 pieces of advice FWIW
1) Best way for a quick standing start is to dump the clutch at ,say, 3000 revs (it's about 3500 in mine) and then floor the throttle. If you slip the clutch it just burns out and continues to slip. With that amount of torque/power the car won't bog down. If you have a G-tech it will confirm it's a fast way to 60mph and you should easily dip under 5 secs.
2) Investigate better clutch components

Thanks Tony, I have a feeling I will need a new clutch soon anyway
