Airbag & Seatbelt Lights, AGAIN! Arrrgghhh!
Another data point on these lights...
Some may recall I did the re-solder work on the back of my '91's clock circuit board, had the Bosch Hammer reset the fault codes, and volia! No more airbag and seatbelt lights.
Today, while out at lunch, I was parking the car, and the front end (lowered) impacted one of those parking barriers pretty good; a nice scrape/thud. Can you see where this is going?
Sure enough, I came back out and started the car up and the airbag and seatbelt lights are on steady. <Sigh> Looks like another trip back to the shop to have the hammer do its magic.

Dear Robert,
I hate to say this but maybe the impact should have deployed the airbag and it didn't. This suggests you have a crash sensor or airbag pill problem. I would seriously have this checked. I do not know the g force required to activate the airbag pills. Hopefully soon I will find out when the ABS manual turns up in the post.
Ciao,

Took the car to Roock (a new shop) here in Atlanta today after confirming they had a Bosch Hammer. I was greeted by Neil, the manager and he quickly had me pull the car around, and pushed a very slick silver Ferrari out of the way to make room for MY car.
The Hammer was hooked up, but it only displayed in German, so we waited for the technican to return. This is a very clean and neat shop, and they had some interesting cars in for service and for sale. The technican (I didn't catch his name) operated the Hammer and found a "front airbag sensor" showning an incorrect resistance. He suggested replacing it if it ever happens again. I think I'll take his advice...what good is an airbag if the sensor to deploy it is not working. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> He also found two other codes related to the heater, but I did not get details (the heater system works fine in the car).
Minutes later, Neil had me out of the shop and the only paperwork was him giving me a business card! This is the second time I've had a shop hook up the Hammer, it's the second time they have done it gratis.
It's positive service experiences like these that earn a customer....and they earned one with me today.
