As it is now... You only have one temperature gauge to monitor your oil temps. What if that were faulty? For me, the more info I have on my engine the better I feel. I've wanted to add this for a long time but dreaded running the wiring. It wasn't really that bad.

I would think that you could keep an eye on the gauge over time to see what your average temps are and use as a baseline. If the temps start to go over that average... You have a problem and know you need to get something checked out.

At the very least I would paint the hole you drilled otherwise I guarantee it will rust out..

Jason... I take the rear shelf out from time to time... It's an easy fix... Though my car rarely ever gets wet. (Garage Queen!) Still sounds like good advice though!
