You mean RS. Do you have any idea how rare and expensive these cars are? Just over 1500 made in the 2 year run. Assuming you want original AND pristine (and not a something built to look like one) you would be better off approaching museums and collections. But if by chance someone PMs you and has a couple that have been sitting around in the barn that they need to get rid of to make room for the new farm owner or last owner's widow please let us know as it would make a great topic for a coffee table book.

Really? An interesting choice of years then...
Well at least this, if true, would put the target into the realm of the possible (but still pretty rare and expensive if pristine is the desired condition).
Hagerty currently shows the following valuations for Condition 1 ("concours") cars :
94 911 C2 Speedster $70.8K USD
73 911 S Coupe $196K USD
72 911 S Coupe $173.5K USD
While we're at it here are the market valuations for the RS derivatives:
73 Carrera RS $695K USD
73 Carrera RS Sport Lightweight (hey..may as well dream big right?
) $905K USD

Agreed Cobalt - and yes, all ROW.
With the same thinking I looked closely at the Wide Body '92 America Roadster... But having neither a turbo engine or the Speedster look to match those gorgeous hips made the car so much less appealing. I do think it will be a sought after collectible though due to the low production numbers (250 from memory)...

That is a good question. Based on the pictures of the different widebody speedsters, assuming they are all one of the 15 factory examples I would say yes and no.
There are two pictured in this thread (the burgundy one above) that clearly do not and the rest clearly do. I am assuming either the two that do not are conversions done later or were built on narrow body shells and converted by the factory. You can tell by the near zero offset of the rear wheels. The rest are using wide body trailing arms and 964 turbo 3.3 factory offset CupI's.
All other wide body 964's, AR, 94 C4 Wide body and the anniversary edition were built on wide body shells using turbo suspension. The only other wide body that did not use turbo suspension was the 3.8RS and RSR.

Ok I just learned a lot about the 964 Speedster reading through this thread. Has anyone come up with a number on how many wide bodies came from the factory?
With all the pictures I have seen over the years of wide bodies 964 Speedsters there must have been a lot of conversions outside of the factory.
Here is another twist. While coming into work this morning I saw a black 964 wide body Speedster with a slant nose (flachbau). I am assuming this was a conversion. Anyone know anything about it?
