3d-printed titanium steering rack braces to give away. These are in the as-printed condition, you will need to ream out the mounting holes to ~8.5mm and purchase longer 70mm bolts (60mm factory length) Drilling titanium kinda sucks... use lots of coolant and keep the heat down to prevent destroying HSS bits. Similar to other brands, you may need to bend power steering lines out of the way. I'm running this brace on a manual steering rack so not sure how much the PS lines would be in the way. Made several in one batch and only needed one... figured I'd share with the 964 community.
first two claimed, one remaining. GONE
These look awesome. Sucks I'm always late. i dig the titanium.
I just converted my top to manual operation and have most of the stock parts available. I have both top switches, one I believe to be original and the other I installed about 5 years ago, $150 for the pair. I also have both latch motors and just replaced the bronze gears in one of them, wires have some chafing on them but wrapped with electrical tape, $400 for the pair. I have the parts they engage with on the windscreen for 100$ The control unit and top motor are still in the car and available but I haven’t taken them out yet if anyone is interested in them.
Hey!
any interest in a working AC compressor? Just removed the AC from my car and need to sell this!
Also have a fully operating cruise control system.
Will upload pictures in a few...
Just out of curiosity, what was your opinion on the numeric shifter? Obviously you removed it so was it not what you expected?
For the money it is a nice option. I personally prefer the rothsport double sheer shift lever with the updated goldenrod and front linkage. It is a lot more expensive though. I had the numeric in my track C2 and it was a bit tough getting into gear at times. The unit I removed was in the cup car live on BaT currently. It did not belong in the car since it had the factory RS shifter which is quite nice as it is when new bushings are installed. So I put it back into the car for the sale. I have driven it with and without the goldenrod and IMO the GR isn't necessary with this upgrade.
