In this case you are mistaken.

The 964 turbo uses a smaller rotor and caliper. The 964T uses a 299 x 28 mm rotor and a 98 x 44 mm pad. Caliper piston size is 34/30 mm this is similar to the 993 n/a rear caliper which is nearly identical but uses a 299 x 24 mm rear rotor. The 993TT uses a completely different 322 x 28 mm rotor a larger 132 x 48 mm pad and has smaller 28/28 mm pistons.

If you are looking to upgrade a 964 you should use the rear 993 caliper instead of the 964T caliper. Using the 964T rear caliper is possible but you will loose your hand brake.

Ah, that's right. I knew I'd hose something up if I went off my rusty memory. I did have the rear 993 calipers in red, same piston sizes but for the wider rotor when compared to the 964.

Default belt hardware

Here is a pic of the hardware on one side. The other side is all wrong....
So it seems that I will need one each of the long and short bolts, one each of the metal spacers, one flat washer, and one black plastic cap for the short bolt head.
The cap has a pin in the center that fits into a hole on the bolt head.
I was hopeing someone had a bucket of bits left over from a race mod.
THANKS !

Yeah, I'm quite certain I have most, if not all of that. It's been picked thru a bit over the years but I know I have the brunt of it.

I'll try and get the container out for a look-see tonight but am frantically preparing for a race trip down South on Thursday - so my mind is elsewhere.

What size of studs do stock C2's use in the rear? 49mm or 45mm?

I only need 1, but willing to buy 5 or so from someone not using them right now.

Hey fellow 64ers! Looking for a tach in excellent condition. May be a long shot but red face would be sweet! Otherwise whatever you've got is fine as long as it's free of any blems.

Cheers!

The 964's use 45mm studs. I replaced my rear studs with longer ones to add spacers. I'll check if I have them still.

Rocket Rob, did you have to remove the hub from the car or did you manage to install longer studs without too much hazzle? How long are the current studs?

I did not remove the hub. After you remove the disk rotor, the studs & hub are exposed. You can hammer out each stud one at a time by rotating the hub. There is a gap that allows you to remove each one.

Is it much hassle? Its not fun. I needed a large sledge to pound them out. The big challenge for me was installing the new studs (approx 10mm longer). I used an impact gun, a lug nut and some sacrificial washers to draw the new studs into place. With a friends help, we finished both rear wheels in a Saturday.

I hope my description makes sense.

The gap would solve the problem. Is the gap created by disassembling the parking brake or just by removing the disk rotor? I will be looking at installing 80mm studs on my 993 (thus 80mm instead of the original 52mm studs, so 28mm longer). I would feel more comfortable doing this without taking the hub off the car. Thanks for your input and sorry for the OT.

Its been a few years so I don't remember exactly. I don't remember disassembling the parking brake but do remember there was a single spot (maybe 10-11:00) that you could get the stud in and out. Not sure if that would work with studs as long as you want. If you remove one of rear rotors, you could easily check.

If you want to discuss this further, start a new thread outside the for sale thread.

Default Open/Drilled Airbox and K&N Filter for 964

Bought this from a fellow Rennlister but never got a chance to try it out before selling the car.

It's got all four clips, the drilled top and the K&N filter. Will leave it up here a few days before putting it on ebay.

This will fit a 964 for sure and possibly a 993, but I can't confirm the 993. Maybe someone else knows. Looking for what I paid, which is $65. Local pickup in Sherman Oaks, CA or shipping is about $10 depending on where you live.
