Before you adjust the striker, I can give you all the tips later. Is your door flush with the quarter panel? If it is, I would replace your door rubber. You'll be amazed at how things will tighten up. Our cars are getting older and this is an area that can be fixed quickly.
Kevin, thanx for some help, I just went and looked at my doors, the drivers side is flush and tight as Pam Anderson's jeans, my passenger side however is not, it starts even at the top and progressevly bows out as u travel down the front of the door getting worse as u look lower, along the bottom theres no question I'm not flush and on the rear quarter the bottom isn't flush. this is the door in question, any help is greatly apprieciated...
p.s. the plate doesn't line up on the mark like the drivers side does..

I've had to adjust the strikers on my wifes 91 cab, along with my 85 930 cab, (crossing over to many railroad tracks??) You need to purchase a 6mm 12 point. It is best to spray some penetrant on the backside of the striker plate, which is inside of the quarter panel, yes you oil tank is there, there is also a protective plastic cover. Take a hammer and strike the twelve point in the fastener, this does two things, it sets the 12 point so you don't strip the fastener, and helps jar it loose. Grab a rachet and loosen, always apply pressure. I use a brass hammer to gently persuade the movement of the striker plate. I wouldn't move it more than 1/8" before checking. Good luck.
Thanx Kevin,
Whats the desired position? that the point on the striker line up w/ the bump in the jamb?
The point on my striker is twords the inside of the car about an eighth of an inch, if i line it up will this make things tighter?
I apprieciate the help....Geo.

The pointer on my striker is pointing to the right side of center of the bump, or toward the inside of the car. Put a piece of tape at the original location (leading edge) move the striker over 3/16" for starters. Keep the striker parallel to the tape.
