Climate Control Malfunction

Climate Control Malfunction
I have a 1990 C2 with a climate control problem.
I can put the fan speed selector at any setting and the climate control will work as long as you have the temperature set at 18c or below. If I have the fan on and start at the blue dot (max cold) and slowly turn the **** the fan will cut out at about 18-20c and won't come back on until I turn the temperature control back down. If I put the defroster switch on you can hear the doors switch. The air will blow on the windshield and then stop after about 5 seconds. I do get heat if I leave the temp. control on hot but no fan.
Any ideas, besides moving to a warmer climate?

Hi Tom,
This sounds very similar to a problem I had with my car back in the mid-90's. As I recall, the problem was fixed by replacing the fuse for the rear blower motor. I will verify this tonight on my receipts.

Hi Tom, I had a similar problem and resolved by replacing the relay in the fuse/relay box in the engine bay. I would certainly check the fuse first per Randalls post. If that is good you might try the relay. Good Luck, Roy Eames 91 C2 Cab.
