37 next week. Going on 4 years of ownership. Wanted a Ferrari (probably pre-pwned) by 30. Glad I wised up.

As a 'long term from new' owner what is your view on the 'the unreliable 911' reputation of the 964?

Roygarth,
Not too bad. Needed a new dual mass fly wheel at 40K. Changed clutch then as well. Also recently switched over to R134 (tired of $200 plus recharges). Other than brakes and tires nothing much. Car is great. Currently I have about 48K miles on the car. It has always been a second car.
thanks

Turned 39 a month ago ... but I look 35 at most. Driving a 964 has that affect on a person. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Well I'll be turning 39 in July. I bought my first 964 at 31. I have owned a dozen variations on the 911 since then and still have a 89 turbo and 87 targa. I'm with Phil. I still play hockey 2 times a week( on the ice, all year round). I also travel all over the globe to surf exotic places. I used to be as low as a 11 USGA golfer but i gave it up. Now i spend hours in the garage with the cars and the bike. Of course hours with a grin on my face in the drives seat too.

Will be 50 in a couple of weeks and don't look a day over 49. I attribute my youthful looks to scaring the hell out of myself every so often in my 964. I've found its release point a few times and survived with nothing worse than a laundry bill.

31. Was fixated on bikes for a while. Ready to start a family and the Boss wants me to keep my road joy on 4 pieces of sticky rubber... 964 seemed like the way to go. Just got it, drove it home and sent it out for new SO3s. Now she's getting antsy 'cause the bikes aren't yet on eBay.

50.
The oldest so far!
I had a top-end rebuild a couple of years ago (rotator cuff repair) and now modify my exhaust with a pleasant peppermint antacid. I run on 95 vintage claret and only apply wax to the wife's moustache. Recently I have had to fit modified headlamp lenses for better vision but I am pleased to report no rust on my jacking points and thus no problem in getting it up.
