My wife hates the car but my girlfriend loves it....
just kidding.
actually, wife is indifferent, except for the fact that my son absolutely loves the car...he is now two and a half and every time we go to the garage and get into the saab, he'll point that the p-car and say "porsche, porsche...".
On occassion he has even cried because we would take the Saab out rather than the P-car.

The fiancee likes the car, and liked the '81SC that I just sold. She doesn't drive a stick well, so we don't let her drive the C4 just yet. She likes to ride in it though.
As for the $$$$$ spent on it, she's a bit hesitant, and won't let me get the wheels I want (17" RUFs or 17" cup). She's suprisingly agreeable to me getting a RUF suspension kit, which is quite pricey. I'm not really sure how I talked her into it. I did go into the physics of it (we were both physics majors in college), and explained how the matched spring rate with damping rate would be well optimized and tested by RUF.
She knew when she met me that she would be stuck with Porsches for the rest of our days. She really wants a 356 (so do I!!), so we'll get one of those some day. Then we can both be greasy under the car together.

My wife loves anything and everything PORSCHE! She is the membership director for our local PCA region and is very active with the 356 Registry. There is a couple dozen awards on the walls for Competition, Concours, and Enthusiast of the year. She even managed a Porsche race team in the American LeMans Series! Check www.reiser-callas.com and click on "team"......that's JoAnne.

My wife is the worst car passenger on the face of the earth. It used to be humorous, however, over the years, it has become a real problem. I can't drive in the same car with her, nor can anyone else. When we go out, she takes her own car and meets me there. The kids drive with me. (their choice) Her nervousness in a car is unbelievable as she imagines things that aren't there and quite often, screams out loud.
The first day I got my Porsche, (many years ago), we went for a drive. By the time I got to the end of our street, she was on the floor in fear. I had to turn around. That has been the extent of her time in the Porsche. I miss not being able to participate in PCA fun runs, however, she would not make such an outing very pleasant.
I love my wife, but with the Porsche, its like having two ladies in my life, with the only similarity being that they both cost about the same.

My wife is very rational. "We need another street Porsche. Get a nice one dear. And where are my keys for it?
She's tracked my race cars and had fun doing it. (A good friend was her instructor.)
Her approach to fast driving on the street is that she will not drive me to work if I lose my license. She will, however, bail me out of jail if necessary.

Wow...so many wives and girlfriends that dislike the greatest cars ever built... In MY case, my wife LOVES it, begs me to take drives on weekends with her. She did prefer my red '78 Targa, but she likes the power of our "90 C4 better. She does roll her eyes whenever she gets the bill for the work done on it. I'm not sure we could ever be without one at this point. NOW, tell me I did not find the right girl to marry.

I was buying my first Porsche, a 944 turbo, when my girlfriend called me on the cell phone, "what are you doing?"... "buying a car." She knew I'd been looking, but didn't think I'd really buy one.. She always thought I drove a too fast, but the funny thing was, she never knew just how fast we were going until she looked over at the speedo.. "it feels like we're only doing 70!" haha..
Anyway, now that I sold the 951, and have started the search for a 964, she is excited about it.. I've been emailing her pictures of 964s for sale and she says she can see me in one of them. I told here that when we get married, I want to buy her a 968 and she loved the idea. She's been telling her friends that she's getting interested in Porsches.. This makes me very happy!

My girlfriend absolutly loves the 964 and has recently convinced me not to sell it when somebody was basically standing in front of me counting the money. (Well, I have won the last two Auto X races and personally also find a sell difficult to justify)
We recently whent on a roadtrip, crossing all of the 7 Emirates in 2 days and she didn't complain a single time about the Sparco Evo 2's seats or the extremely stiff suspension!
Ciao,
Johannes E.

My wife likes the car. She and I enjoyed a few great years of DE. Now, with a new baby, she is getting cold feet and is very worried about safety on the track. However, she is still going to co-drive with me for two events at the Glen this year. She still loves that track!
She isn't too happy about the way I spend so much time and money on the cars, and Rennlist is a sore subject. Oh well... If she didn't like the car, I'd be in alot worse shape.

And my family experiences are exactly the same as yours - my wife virtually never rides in the car but my 3 girls (ages 3-6-8) LOVE "speedy" as they call it and love being picked up from school with the roof down and that cup pipe barking..........
How is that SAAB of yours? I think that that AERO suspension must make a lot of difference as I, after 2 years, continue to despair at the lack of SAAB-ness on my standard 9-5SE 3.0 turbo wagon

My wife love the C4 Cab but will not drive it
unless I am with her(she could drive it 8-10 a year while I work in Michigan) My wife thinks
that I should spend my upgrade money on a new
computerized, Litronic headlight 996.
She doesn't realize that whenever I hear that
air cooled flat six scream as I drive agressive
enough to make the all=wheel lights come on in
corners, then out run the dim headlight beams
in straight aways, this is what owning a P-Car is all about.
