I'm depressed about the trouble the check-strap replacement is giving me so thought I'd show-off the pedals I did.
Rennline aluminums bolted to stock clutch/brake after removing rubber covers. Accelerator is adjustable so replaces whole pedal and makes heel-toe much easier as the pedal is now flush with brake pedal. Dead pedal is screwed to sidewall (took wheel off the make sure there was nothing under there). I used all stainless hardware so I won't fight with rusted bolts again!
Under the carpet is the Rennline aluminum floor.
Sorry about the dirt!
Marc
Oh yeah, the mat is a custom all-weather one from P. Products that I further custom cut to fit even better.

The build quality seems quite good. All are machined aluminum and included hardware is all stainless steel. Quite sturdy but we'll see how they last over time. The only change I did was to use longer screws to attach the dead pedal (they send 1/2" I think but I used 3/4" as it was a more secure fit).
The adjustable accelerator also comes with a wider lower segment (a wing) that juts out below the brake to make heel-and-toe easier but I didn't want to rely on a crutch like that or else I'd get out of practice and not be able to heel-and-toe without it! I used the narrow segment but it is 2 minutes to switch the two.
I have size 11 feet and do not have had any problem - the dead pedal mounts flush on the side wall so does not add much bulk to the left side of the foot box.

Reason: typos
Marc you sure are hard at it. I can barely keep up with all your mods. By the way, did your clear corners just bolt right on or did you have to do some finagling and did you get the bumperettes and indicators from the same place?
Pics please.

Umm, do you heel/toe in any other car? If not, and you're only doing it in the 964, why not make life easier on yourself by leaving the wing pedal in? Ever heard of the KISS principle? Then again, I guess we wouldn't 10-15 year old German sports cars if we didn't have at least a hint of masochism in us...

Chris - Thanks - I've been working hard to get a bunch of stuff done while the weather is bad so I can take advantage of the nice weather when it comes. My wife think I'm spending too much time but that is not possible, now is it?
I got clear corners from RennSpeed for US$100 that included side lights too. Bulbs are silver ones from FVD that flash yellow but are otherwise a clear colour. I get get part numbers and details if you'd like. I left clear bulbs in the side markers as yellow looked funny (as they are on all the time when the car is running). They were a 10 minute bolt-on job. I'm not sure what you mean but black bumperettes were standard on the car.
Brian - I have done heel-and-toe on every manual car I've owned and learned on my first Honda Civic. I want to keep in practice so it is not practicing if it is too easy!
If I wanted an easy car, I would have got a new RX-8 (had to get 4 seats acc. to my wife) for the same money but.....it is not as much fun as a 15 year old Porsche, now is it?

What/who does your wife think is going to fit in those tiny back seats? They're so tiny!
I was talking about the clear bumperette replacements like this car.
Oh, the clear bumperettes - sorry, now I now what you mean.
Yeah, they look sweet but I don't have clear bumperettes, just clear turns and side markers. I have a set of brake ducts I am getting painting so will be removing the fogs and black bumperettes soon anyway.
I am told that MSRoadRace (www.msroadrace.com) sell them for a good price.
Wow - that blue one in the photo looks really hot - is that yours??

p.s. My son is only 19 months old so, for the moment, fits okay!
It's the car on my wallpaper right now but no it's not mine. I wish it were! I'm mesmerized by it. It's one of the most beautiful P cars I'ver ever seen and those all-clear corners are just the icing on the cake. I found it on the 965 board.
I can see a 19 month old in those seats. Does the car seat fit?
