Because of amp noise, under seat noise annoyances, I installed the amp in the front of the car. Cables go from head unit, turn left, head out through a hole in the firewall juat above the route that the trunk latch goes through. Then forward, around the tank, over the spare to the amp which is installed on the right side wheel well.

I have them bundled in a wire-wrapper thing on the driver side, and free on the trunk side.

Everything comes back through the same route, to the factory speaker connections under the passenger seat. It makes for a long wire run.

Hello

Porsche avoided those problems by using DIN connectors between the units. They are shielded and quasi symetrical.

The RCA stuff is nice at home but makes problems in modern cars ( You can even hear the seat motors and the heatet windows ).

So on real expensive audio conversion you go to optical ( Sony Esprit, Blaupunkt ) or full symetric solutions.
Plus you run a seperate battery for the audio system.

Compared to a BMW, old Porsches are very "easy" to work out. Strangly most is trail and error and even a slightest changes can show effects.

Grüsse
