hello Marc, i too am looking for some wheels and i seen these on a 944 , they look nice on the picture but on the car they have a too modern look to them. they dont quite match the car. i am not trying to be negative in any way. to bad wheels are not like shoes where you can try them on and see how they look before you buy. i think because the bars are to square, but your car being black as mine i wonder how they would look with black centers and the polished lip, it would tone the silver centers down a bit and not make it so flashy. kind of like black centered fuch with polished lip. the price is a definate plus as it wont break the bank so to speeak. everyone has cup 1 and 2 and i think it would be nice for something different. that offset in the front, will it stick out to much? keep us posted on what you do as i am looking for some wheels to just want to pick the right ones. i was thinking of fiske but very exspensive. as far as weight 1 , 2 ,3 ,4 pound is not that much , it not like your getting paid to win some competitive race. i think as long as it is a strong and safe wheel it will be ok. look at RUF wheels they are heavy to. i am looking forward to your choice as this might give me a chance to see my car with some different wheels. its good to be different and creative.

Thanks again for all the input.
Christer - I'm sure yours are lighter BUT they were a tad more than US$189 each, yes?
Joey - the 993 cups are very nice too but I was under the impression they were a bit heavier as a search of Rennlist revealed a lot of threads on wheel weights and most people seem to weigh in at 23 - 24 lbs. Also 23 - 24 lbs. seemed a common weight on www.wheelweights.net so, for the price, 26 lbs does not seems bad, if one considers the price and my intended application too.
Dunasso - I was looking for something not too hard to keep clean too as lots of mud, salt, etc. I really like Joey's wheels (Fikse FM10's) but they would be a bugger to keep clean, I'm sure. Same as Julian's gold BBS wheels. D90's are easy to clean so that is in their favour.
Dutch - www.tirerack.com who are selling them let you try them on your car (white only), and I didn't think they look bad on the 964. You're right, some dark or black centre's might tone them down a bit but there is no more alloy visible than the Cups or Twists.
Hope I'm not starting to sound defensive....
I do appreciate all the points that people have raised and you've given my lots to think about before I hand over my dough.

Oops - re-read the site carefully and the centre is gravity cast while the outer lip is stainless so the rivets hold the two together. The titanium rivets are therefore not just cosmetic but functional too and I guess the stainless lip is to give extra strength against cracking (but adds to the weight).

Well, I guess I can't convince anyone that those AT Italia rims would make a good rim for winter tires so I guess I'll get the black steel rims from Wal-Mart like my friend did with his Audi TT (man, now THAT looks sad). ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

The 3-piece 964 Turbo and 3-piece 993 SuperCup wheels in 18" are definitely my first choice but for a winter beater $159 is tough to beat for a wheel. At that price they are almost disposable, I've had brake rotors cost more.

The knock-offs made by Kinesis are slightly cheaper than OE but the 17" version just doesn't look right. Try one of the mail-order porsche dealerships in the USA. Last month I had the following prices given to me;
965-362-136-00 952.23
965-362-136-01 1206.15
965-362-140-00 1079.17

993-362-136-81 952.23

Thanks Christer - the car is stock North American height at the moment so, if I get the wheels, I can be sure they fit before doing any lowering.

Marc,
I 've had the AT wheels (17") on my white 91 Targo for the last couple of years. They look fantastic, very Porsche like, and seem to be quite durable. The wheels have proven to be easy to clean and once again, look fantastic.
