I am considering a '92 SC400 for daily use as my 964 has been seeing most days out of commission lately. Have any of you ever had experience with these cars? Horror stories? Supposedly, they have a reputation for rock-solid reliability and last forever.

PS: I know that it's a bloated, overweight land barge that's soft around the edges. Try not to make fun of me too much!

I've had a 1994 SC300 and a 1995 SC400 and I loved them both. They look sporty, but thats the end of it. You are dead-on with your description, but they are very pretty cars that drive perfectly. A really great highway car for it's size. Maintenance is just like any other Toyota (almost non-existant). It would certainly never replace a 964, but it will look pretty and pamper you a lot!
