Question Where to buy right heater motor?

I need a passenger side blower motor. The part removed is 964.572.213.01
Anyway know where to buy one? I tried Pelican and Performace Parts. I am just assuming the dealer is expensive...I'll try them on Monday and see what they want. But a used one my be all I need....after all this one lasted 13 years.
I have a spare motor that has part number 964.572.201.501....any one know what that is for? I'm guessing the drivers side blower. BTW what is the purpose of that motor? A/C maybe?

Try Reeves Porsche in Tampa. They discount 25%.

Steve, I don't believe it but I have THAT blower siting in front of me right now. I bought it when I had my first 89 C4 cause the squeeking was driving me crazy. I never installed it cause I sold that C4 and bought another one. The guy I bought it off of was on the Rennlist so I assume the motor is good, never tested it though. Let me know what you want to do.

If Andrew's blower doesn't work out, you can also try Sunset Porsche = cost + 15%. The blower is about $140, as I recall. Make sure you ask for the Excellence magazine discount.

Bill's recommendation of Reeves is a good one, as well. Kenn Young is now the parts manager for Reeves, used to have great deals when he worked for Hendrick Porsche.

I looked up your two part numbers (964.572.213.01 & 964.572.201.501) in PET--"part not found." Now, I'm not the most skilled person with PET, and it's possible the part numbers you have given are some sort of intermediate assembly. But, I would think the numbers would have surfaced during a search (here's where skill may be the issue), and they're not on the PET diagram you would expect to find them. Oh, and the .501 suffix looks bogus ...

The blower part numbers--which have never changed, even through 993 production--are:

Left = 964.572.015.01
Right = 964.572.016.01

The front left and right blowers are your interior fan and defroster. The blower on the left side of your engine compartment provides forced heat (across the heat exchangers), and also helps cool the engine.

Best of luck!

Steve,

You might be able to take it to an electric shop and have the armatures rewound, brushes replaced, etc. It might be cheaper... You might be able to do it yourself if you are feeling adventurous. Electric motors are actually pretty simple to rebuild... If you can get to them.

I just bought the right and left blower motors from Vertex Auto for $139 US each. They had them in stock and shipped quickly.
