Bumping an old thread here.. I have a 1993 964 where the sensitivity is so high i have neighbors complaining about it.
I took it to my local alarm/stereo shop and they said they can't work on it because it's a factory alarm. I can't find anywhere online any information about bringing the sensitivity down. Any help?

I have the same issue. The advice I was given was to just replace with a new system, as it could ultimately be more costly to repair it and there is no guarantee of success.

What part of the alarm is too sensitive? The ultrasonics?

It's so sensitive that if somebody slams their car door shut and they're parked next to my 964 my alarm goes off. If you touch the car with your hand lightly the alarm will also go off.

So what alarm code is triggered on the control unit?

Where is the control unit on the vehicle? We haven't been able to find it. I would assume there is a sensitivity control on that unit.
I also would like to disarm the auto-on feature which turns the alarm on by it self once the car is shut off after 30 seconds.

In your MY93 it will be under the right (passenger in NA) seat.

Thanks. And on the control unit for the alarm there is some sort of setting which controls sensitivity and auto-arm?
