Lifts are great aren't they, makes changing that clutch so, so easy. Being one that started out with VW's then graduating to 911's I know the benefits of having a lift and don't thing I could ever live without one. Looks good Jon.

Looks awesome!

How much did that run?
How close is the door when open to the windshield on the 964?

The door and door opener arm are close, a couple of feet. I am going to remove the shelves behind the lift to allow me to move it in another 2.5 feet or so.

Here is a picture with the door up:

excellent setup! That's just what I've been planning on doing. If you don't mind,
what is the make / manufacturer of the lift?

It is a Team Lift, SS7000 with a 220 Pump. I got it through American Automotive Equipment. Here is their url American Automotive Equipment . They also sell on E-Bay.

Better not have any oil leaks or this arrangement gives a reason for keeping the undertray mounted. You don't want to mess up your wife's paint job, eehhh...

Johan, I have 3 drip trays for the lift on the way.

Dan, my ceiling is 11 feet.

John:
I noted that you raised the door opener up closer to the ceiling. Where did you get the extension form the door opener drive to the door itself? It looks a few feet long.

Great idea. I have a similar set up and I always thought I was going to have to also raise the door rails. Apparently not, it does look tight though.
Congratulations, job well done.

Dave,

I did have the door rails raised, you can sort of see it in the open door picture. I also had a 10 foot door opener installed, which included the extended arm for the door. Basically it is four pieces bolted together.

John, the project looks great! I know you were looking forward to this. You've inspired me to get a tape out for my garage to see if this will work.

How long does it take to raise/lower the car on the lift? (You can see where my evil mind is headed, I think!)

Joe
