I've had really good luck with ThePartsBin.com

Starter --> http://oem.thepartsbin.com/parts/the...ionType=Manual

Their prices are usually as low as I can ever find.

For example..... Adrian's book is only $54 rather than $70 everywhere else. This is a MUST have for any 964 owner

Nice car, I like the 964's because they are tending to be quite rare even in CA! Seems to be more popular in England than any where else.

Ahh damnit, I already bought it last week for $70. Oh well, as long as it helps someone out.

And the weird thing is, I used to NEVER see anything but 996s and boxsters in my area but this week alone I've seen a 964 everytime I've gone out. Maybe I'm just paying more attention now.

So it's STONE grey metallic eh? Someone said it was slate grey. Good to know.

TonyL - I live in Sherman Oaks, where are you? I've been going to TRE since they're the closest and good people, but if you have any other shops in the area you'd recommend, send me their way.

If you want to save money, bring the starter to one of the starter and altenator rebuilders, like a Bosch Service Station or so. Much cheaper, and you keep your own starter. My rebuild did cost about a 185 Us $

It is slate grey! Stone grey (pebble grey in the US I believe) is lighter - colour of my avatar! My car has a slate grey interior and I am constantly getting the two mixed up.

Welcome, BTW

I stand corrected; it is Slate Grey Metallic. The color quite unusual, I wonder if there are records regarding the number of 911's painted this color by model year. Anyone have an idea if this informaiton is available?

OMG....... THAT IS OUTSTANDING!!!!! I checked into this Forum after returning from the track after a few days - to post about what it was like driving Jen's 964 C4 in the Instructors group "flat out" on Monday - and this thread caught my eye first.......

Your 964 is beautiful!!!!! And the color drop-dead gorgeous. And the mirrors are just the way they should be....

Congrats!!!!!!!!
