If I used a BBS 8051, then the outer would be a 4" outer and 8" inner. The correct BBS wheels used on the RSR were 8041 and 8040 (I can't remember which is front and which is rear) and the offsets are different than mine.

The rear suspension arms are the narrow body arms, so they are the same arms as an RS street car bushing aside. The inner spring plate on the factory supported 94 version was a special plate that allowed for the selection of 2 camber choices with the twist of a nut. It was different from the 93 model which was essentially like the RS street model. The 94s factory cars also had fender extensions similar to the 993RSRs that bolted to the bodywork in the latter part of the year.

Good info as always. I was speaking to the speedline wheels. Contemplating a turbo reinactment of a 3.8.

That spring plate sounds major trick. Any pics?

For bushings, I would go with the 9meister ones being discussed on any of the NA trailing arms.

Since we have the car and a new set of genuine wheels in the shop, if I get a chance tomorrow I will post up the front/rear sizes and offsets.

Should anyone be interested, the 3.8RS that we are building will be LHD and Amethyst colour, powered by a stock 3.6 engine on Motec that should have around 315-325 bhp when finished.

Colin,
How do you get 315 -325 BHp with the Motec in a stock 3.6 . I am not saying it can't be done. I just what to know how. Maybe this is something I need in my car . Is this rear wheel Hp? Tell me more.

The parts manual list 2 wheel choices, one from BBS and another from Speedline, although I've only seen them with BBS wheels. All 964 based race cars use N/A trailing arms.
Back in 1994 I saw a 3.8RSR at a local concours before it was retired to a private collection. Brand new delivered car nearly 0 miles black/black very nice. It had speedlines vs the BBS and it was my first experience seeing the speedline wheel. Still like it to this day. So they must have offered them from the factory as you say.

Today, at the Retroclassic exhibition in Stuttgart, I saw

1 964 RSR, speed yellow, 350km

1 964 RS, ruby, 170km

1 964 Cup, ruby, 1800km

I just could not stop drooling. The cars were gorgeous!

Afterwards I had to relief myself with a good thrashing of my 70,000 km RS Clubsport...

Colin has detailed many of his innovations in these pages over the last couple of years. Do a search on his posts and you'll find hours of reading material that will burn holes in your checkbook.
