i have a set of hre wheels "525" and one has a center spoke that fractured. wheel is true and straight looks like a stress fracture. hre no longer makes this wheel and says they cannot do anything about it !!!! hate to lose the whole set over this--can this be repaired correctly??? does anyone have a wheel they want to sell??? these have the gold five spoke centers.it is a seventeen inch wheel off a 93 rs. any help would be appreciated. thanks bill

Junk the wheel, and be sure to render it unusable by drilling holes in the tire bead seating surface. You risk a wheel rupture at speed if you attempt a repair or use as is.

You may want to see if you can reuse the rim halves with a different HRE center - If so, maybe you can rebuild the broken wheel. If visual balance is important, you could rebuild a second, so you'd have two old and two new. However, if one rim center fractured, I'd want the others magnafluxed (or whatever is done today) to ensure that there aren't problems developing with the other 3 wheels.
