I would take which ever one has been sorted out mechanically..
They are both great cars, but having gone through the process of restoring a neglected one along with the cost and time of bringing it back to life would have made me take the other one...

I hear you. The strosek is perfect, the 993 is getting a bunch of maintenance work done ie suspension, wheels, brake discs and a number of smaller age related replacements. Sure adds up, will be putting in €20k into it which wasn’t planned but should be perfect once ready
The Strosek has laminated sills to the rear and front fenders. Laminations are an abomination in terms of rust, where fiberglass (or plastic) meet steel. Issues waiting to happen.
On more subjective note, it is very hard to make a 964 better looking. Strosek has not succeeded.
I have a GR 964 and a metallic black 993, so I like both colors, but Metallic Black is rare and exotic to me. It probably adds market value as well based on its rarity and beauty.
I do agree that sitting next to a regular black car could make the metalic look dirty, but unless you are trying to color coordinate your cars, that would not be a factor.
So, 993 all day for me.

haven’t seen any sign of rust and ive seen the bumpers off getting a repaint. I’d have to disagree on the strosek not looking better. I think what it has done to the back of the car and in creating the wider arches it has created something special. Side by side with a regular 964 it’s very hard not to appreciate it. Like you pointed out though it is subjective, horses for courses as they say
