Dear Cupcar,
Here are the weights for these wheels in 19 inch diameter.
Front wheels: 8.5 x 19 " at 10.5 kg
Rear wheels: 10 x 19 " at 12.0 kg or 11 x 19 " at 12.4 kg
This is the smallest they make. A certain person's Carerra 4 will under go some testing to see if these wheels can be fitted. If they can be then Sportec will have them legally homologated for the 964. Sportec are also looking at making an 18 inch wheel for the older model Porsches as well. Again if they go down this path it will receive TÜV and Swiss approval. These particular wheels are made by BBS in Germany to Sportec design and specifications. I will keep you all in the loop on how the wheel testing goes. It is already clear that some minor modifications will be required to strenthen the wheel carrier at the front and maybe some minor body modifications. This work has already been carried out on the 993 and 996.
Dear Garrett,
That parking space still belongs to my C4 and will remain so. The GT-2 is not a practical car. It is really "Just for fun". You cannot drive it in the wet (without being seriously careful) and in winter it is useless. This car would be far more at home in the states of CA, or AR than here in Switzerland. It is a strictly summer car only. A very very very fast summer car.
General summary:
This particular GT-2 is the single most powerful car legally registered in Switzerland. It is quite driveable at all speeds but getting used to the double clutch plate system takes a while. It is very nervous but for me this is okay because it is no more nervous than my C4. That is how I have it set up. You have to take great care of other drivers because once this thing launches it is at warp speed really quickly. However the braking system is also very powerful. Official homologation testing showed the distance required from 100 kph to 0 kph was just a tad over 32 metres (100 feet). The GT-3RS is 34.3 metres). I have tested the brakes and you do need the seat belt.
The seats installed are very comforable for racing seats. No cup holders or air con .
However it is fitted with GPS and a Porsche 4 CD system.
In a couple of hours Gail and I are off to Mindelheim and then Pfaffenhausen. I will be able to legally open it up but a lot depnds upon the traffic. Closing speed of this car is awesome as I said. It also chews the juice. Fuel economy is terrible above 140 kph and if you stick the boot in you can almost see the fuel pointer drop down.
Strictly "Just for fun" but boy what fun,
Ciao,
Adrian

Nice but a lot of GT-2's have suffered with an oil starvation problem, one in particular featured in GTone magazine had to go back to the main dealer more times that the owner cares to remember eventually having a new engine installed on warranty, they did give the owner a 996 turbo as a "runabout" while his car was being repaired though.Fed up with the car being so temperamental the owner gave up on it in the end.

Burning Brakes
Hi Adrian,
The whole south of Germany goes on holiday this weekend - don't expect much room to play on the autobahns.
In fact they predict the A5 and A8 will be walking pace !!!
As it will also be over 30 Degrees C this weekend, I think you should bring it back and get the air con put in !!

Dear Irishdriver,
This is why we are driving up to Mindelheim this afternoon. Luckily for us everyone is leaving Germany not entering it Once I get to Lindau we are about 45 mins from Mindelheim in the C4 I do not expect to be any faster in the GT-2 because of the traffic. I do not expect much room to play. You are quite correct this is a dangerous time to play anyway.
I am used to hot weather and I am used to not having working aircon I own a 964 remember

Don't be to preciese where you go today, otherwise a possible car jack could be the next you will experience.......... Would be a shame missing the car again after such short notice. A lot of people are jalouse right now I think. Have fun driving this afternoon!

Dear Arjan,
As you as you, oooops as long as THEY leave me their car to get home no problem
It will not be hard to locate afterwards because it is the only one of its kind that looks quite like this and the naughty driver will have the biggest widest grin etched into his face. As long as it does not rain.

Gail and I had lots of fun.
Next time I might clean the car first properly before entering into a concours. I only did because my better half told me to
First time for me as well and the first time in my entire life I actually won a trophy for anything. Well I did not win the car did really I was just along for the ride
Oh before anyone asks, at 300 Kph and still accelerating I switched my eyes 100% to the road.
Gail said she closed her eyes when the digital readout said 250 Kph and still rising fast.
