Sorry I missed all the fun.

I was there until about 17.00 hours on Sunday. Didn't do any laps as the conditions were very treacherous and I really didn't want to bend the car on the evening before my vacation...

Anyway, at least I had a quick chat with Arjan. The original plan was to do laps until closing time, but due to the weather I decided to join my mates a day earlier than planned for our trip through the Alps. Between Sunday and Friday we did the following:

Germany:
- Schauinsland (going south from Freiburg towards Bad Sackingen)

Switzerland:
- Glaubenbüelenpass
- Klausenpass
- St. Gotthardpass (using cobblestone Val Tremola route)
- Nufenenpass
- Grimselpass
- Sustenpass
- Furkapass
- Simplonpass

Italy:
- Val Vigezzo (not a pass but a brilliant drive though!)

Switzerland:
- San Bernadinopass
- Val Ferrera (not a pass but a great drive!)
- Splügenpass (up)

Italy
- Passo dello Spluga (down)

Switzerland:
- Malojapass
- Julierpass
- Flüelapass

Italy:
- Passo d'Eira
- Passo di Foscagno
- Passo dello Stelvio

Switzerland
- Umbrailpass

Italy:
- Passo d. Rombo (up)

Austria:
- Timmelsjoch (down)

At the top of Stelvio we were covered in snow: overnight a blanket of about 2 inches came down

Pictures of the trip are in two locations. One collection was taken with my small digital Ixus (quite a few in-car piccies here), the other with my new digital SLR (Eos 10D).

Collection one can be found here, the other one is here

Of course I also made some video recordings too. Will try to make a compilation of that later

Cheers,

JW

That looks like an ideal trip, barring that encounter with the armco...
Great pics guys, and thanks for sharing!
