WTB: Design 90 Wheels 16x8
I am looking for a pair of 16x8 Design 90 Wheels. These will be for my '90 Carrera2. Offset would be 52mm.
A bit of curb rash and a few scratches are OK, but they must be straight and true. Center caps and lug nut are NOT required, as these will be track/autocross wheels.
Given how these wheels are almost universally hated, I am sort of surprised that there are not a boat load of 'em sitting on e-bay waiting for me!
I just know that all this talk about 17's and 18's means that someone on this forum has a pair gathering dust in the garage just begging for me to buy them.
If you know where I can get a pair, please PM me or e-mail at bleduc@comcast.net
Thanks!

Don,
Can you PM me with a listing? Right now I am finding a few single wheels, and one set of 4 (6's and 8's) listed. Of course my search criteria may be failing me.
Thanks!

Four single 16x8's closed recently on e-bay ranging from $39 to $68 per wheel.
Another set of chrome D90's got no bids with an openning price of $300, and there is a set of standard finish wheels with an openning price of $350 with no current bids.

Funny, I just got a quote from a very well known wheel place for some perfect 16" Design 90's (I thought of replacing mine for concours reasons since I have some scratches and curb rash from prior owners). $2400 for 4 new rims (6" and 8"). $1200 for a set of 4 refinished rims (also 6" and 8") and about $120 per rim (if I remember correctly) to have mine refinished. All above prices didn't include shipping...
At those prices, I think I'll wait and just take the points hit when I do show the car... I thought these 'hated' rims would basically be free (at least for a refinished set).

They're hated until someone says they want to buy your set.....then suddenly, like all things Porsche, the price takes a Viagra!
Those are pretty dear prices! But I suppose for concours purposes, they can't be too perfect, right?
I asked for a quote from Oklahoma Foreign. We'll see what they want for a less than perfect, but straight and true pair.
Note to Joey: I think you are right re:buying a full set, but I am trying to do this on the cheap (as if the word "cheap" and "Porsche" can in any way be combined in the same sentence!).

Just a bump...
Have had a few leads, but as Joey surmized, folks want to sell the whole set. I may have to bite the bullet if the price is right. Guess an unused pair of 16x6's would make a lovely end-table stacked one on top of the other.
Heck, I would then be able to actually use my black painted center caps that people seem to pay rediculous money for!

D-90s available
I just swaped out my D 90's - OEM from MY1991. If you have not found your two 8 incher's let me know. I would prefer to sell all four - won't ask much but shipping from Seattle may be $100+ for all four. Tires are well worn S-02's.
