Question Horn dies in rain

Recently I've noticed that my horn stops working after the car has been exposed to any significant moisture. I checked the fuse and relay, and cleaned off the electrical connections where the horn attaches to the wiring. I also checked the horn buttons on the steering wheel. Both buttons work fine when the horn is working. Has anyone else experianced this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Any damp getting into the 'Central Electric' , aka fuse-box?

John,
No moisture appears to be getting into the fuse box. The seals are still intact. Thanks for the reply.

We washed the car of Randall G. lately, after that the horns didn't work either. DEAD. He ordered new ones from Sunset Porsche. 65 Bucks for both as I remember well.

I assume replacing the horns fixed the problem.

Randall, any update?

Interesting... I wonder if the "waterproofing" on anyone else's horn has expired.

We measured the wires and the relay. It came out the horns died. Probably one was already dead before, now the second one.

Yup, both horns work now. Though, I do believe the car wash was only a coincidence. As Arjan wrote, we checked for and found 12V/good ground on the wires to the horns, and both horns were bone dry.

Next time your horns act up, you should check for 12V/good ground at the wires to the horns. You'll need an assistant to push the horn button to verify 12V is reaching the horn.

Good luck!

Thanks for the update and advice Randall. I'll check the wires with my new handy dandy multimeter.
