Front ignition coil arcing
I changed spark plugs, ignition coils, and all wires about 4000 miles ago and four years ago. Car has been running well since then. The other evening the car started running very poorly, fortunately only a few miles from home. Diagnosis is that the front ignition coil is arcing, between the king lead and the ground lug.
Yesterday, I swapped the king leads (moving the front lead to the back coil, and the back lead to the front coil) and started the car up, it idles fine, no arcing. I did not drive it. Putting the king leads back to the original position results in a rough idle again and arcing again on the front ignition coil. Does this swap indicate anything in particular?
