Default NB Tire Sizes

Looking to upgrade the wheel and tires on my NB. Going to go with Fuchs 17x8 et52 fronts with 235/45/17 tires and 17x9 et55 255/40/17 for the rears. From what I’ve read this setup works for a NB front. I’m lowered on MCS coilovers with the updated tie rod spacers. Hoping to not have any rubbing up front. Anyone else running this setup?

On 17x8 and 17x9 I am running 225/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear. The 225/45 and 255/40 are the same diameter, which is nice. I don't miss the extra 10mm of tread width.

cool, what tires are you running? Good to know re: the fronts. I read the 235 was what was used on the cup cars? I’m at 205 right now so 225 or 235 is going to be a nice step up in the right direction.

I am running the Continental Extremecontact Sport. I'm happy with them, good all-around summer performance tire.

964 Cup used 8ET52 235/45 and 9.5ET47 255/40 x17 at first
You can use those, but JMO 225/40 is a better choice for the front. the 225/on an 8 is better fitted than 235 on 8, Now if you used 235 or 245 on 8.5 that would be different.

thanks Bill, you’re a wealth of knowledge and appreciate the input. 225/40 it is.

That's 8+9 with 235 and 265. Does not rub at all. PS4S

Would a 17x7 with a 225 front be that much less desirable than the 17x8 with the same 225?

Sidewall doesn't look quite as straight but it works fine. I have 225s on 17x7s as well.

You are getting down to nuances here, besides optics the difference is a better support/leverage w/ the 8 which raises the grip level a bit at the cost of a bit ride comfort..

that’s a juicy setup. What wheels and offsets are you running with those tires?

This is the real upside of running the 235/265 - you can run the PS4S. There's good tires available at 225/255, but the PS4S is better than anything available in the 225/255 sizing for street driving IMO.

That's exactly why I did it. I was a little concerned about the fit but it came out pretty nice, IMO.
