A quick note - I've recommended AJ-USA on a number of occasions before (mostly regarding my airbag steering wheel which I bought from them; front sway bar and brake rotors but also as a general place to get parts) - right now I'm no longer recommending them.

Specifically my advice is, if what you are buying from these guys usually comes in pairs or a set, call and check that the advertised price on the website is for the number you expect; ensure when you order by phone you don't assume that free shipping applies (the small print of that offer varies and even when it looks like it applies, well don't assume they'll stand behind it) and when they don't call back when they say they will, keep calling.

Ordinarily I wouldn't mention this kind of thing, I just would not give these guys my future business. It is not the first time I've shortened my "buy from" list.

But my dilemma and my point for posting is that I've recommended these guys and their products repeatedly on this board, and I don't now - and I reckon I have to share that.

thanks ruairidh!

From your first note, did you replace your airbag? Was it broken, or because it is old? Sorry it's off-topic.

Thanks! That's a great looking interior - interesting how you can take the picture with the camera still on the passenger seat... tricky...

Did you do the airbag install yourself? Easy?

I'll add my 2 cents on the "AJ" small print. I needed a few small parts and they totaled up to about $40. The web site said "Special FREE Shipping for orders Over $50" & "orders less than $50 pay a flat $7 shipping". So I went back and added some P21 Wheel cleaner. When my order was totaled there was a Shipping charge even though the total purchase was now up to about $55 ??? But get this, in the small print before checkout it says "shipping cost may not be accurate - call or email for actual charges" I assumed that meant they would take off the shipping - wrong! In fact when I emailed them the response was that shipping was now $17 !!! - why? - because the wheel cleaner is shipped separately from a different location and they would not include that in the total order. Ala - no $50 order or FREE shipping, Or $7 shipping. Dumb & Dumber.
I canceled the order and took my business to a new vendor, GPRPARTS.com.
The parts cost was about 3% less & the shipping was $7.45. and everything was timely and "as promised". .... Buyer beware!

Shipping and handling is the latest scam on eBay, and it appears the other vendors are learning. One auction for a 964-related item had a "buy it now" price of $1. Shipping and handling was $69 per item.
