Keep looking at other cars. At that price, this one will be around for a while longer. You will get a better deal from a motivated individual seller, and in most cases you will get a better history on the car.

After looking at at least 3 or 4 examples, you will know if this one is priced right and a reasonable deal. It is impossible to tell from pictures and descriptions.

If this is original paint, the car is a garage queen and could be worth a premium. If there is evidence of collision repair, or if this is not the original paint, this car has seen hard use and is considerably overpriced. Visible wear on the driver's seat is cause for concern - if those are highway miles, the seat would not show so much wear.

Are you seeing too much wear in the picture or is this just a general caution? The seat wear seemed reasonable to me for a 15 year old car.

No, I think they're 18's. The sidewalls look too short.

Here's mine with 17's.

Oh, I edited my original comments. At first I thought they were the same size but clearly they're not (Stop confusing me, Raby! ).

Thanks, webini!

Now you're confusing me! Do you now think the red car has 18s? I still go with 17s - they look similar in size to yours.

BTW check out that original ride height!

If I buy the car believe me that is one of the first things to get sorted out. Suggestions?

Eibachs or H&R are the best choices IMHO. And change the dampers while you're at it.

No, I think they're 18's. The sidewall difference is subtle, 1.27cm, and when I look at that rear tire I can't believe it's the same size as mine.

webini,

If you lower, you should probably consider replacing the shocks as well. About $1,500 for parts and 10 hours of labor which includes corner balance and alignment. As for ride height, measuring from the center of the wheel arch to the ground, shoot for 25.5" up front and 25" at the rear. Mine's set at appox. 24.5" front and rear which gives it a slight forward rake and geared towards track use.
