A guy is selling 'later style 911/964 cup wheels', but lists them as
7 x 17 ET 23 front and 9 x 17 ET 15 rear.
Is this be correct? I thought we were 55 offset.
And what does ET stand for any way? (apart from the short guy with the finger)

+23mm would be correct for a 7" at the front of a thru '89 911 and +15 for the rear of a Carrera flared car of the same vintage.
offset o/s - ET - Einpress Tief (PUSHED IN DEPTH )

Thanks Bill!
So how come Howard/Kahdmus gets a straight 964 fit with a set of ET55's?
(see his latest reply to my other wheel thread)
Less confused by the minute.

Johnny, perhaps you didn't understand Bill V.'s response?
The offsets you mentioned are for a Carrera, SC and S up to 1989, except for the 964 C4.
The basic fitments for a 964, 968, 993 and 996 are ~ 55mm, with the Boxsters having a 50mm offset on the rear...and only 8.5" wheels - with 17" wheels that is.
If you were to obtain a set of Cup II 993 wheels, they will almost always be 7" and 9" with a 55mm offset on all four corners...these will work, with a slight chance of rubbing on the inside of your wheel arches, in the rear...if using larger than your basic 255 series tire, and that depends on camber, toe, etc.
I agree with Bill, being that these wheels are older offsets, newer style...they are apparently repros - run Forrest, RUN!

Blimey, this wheel business is a shark pool. This guy makes out they are genuine, and for a 964 in his ad. - I asked for a clarification and he just copied the ad. to me in a PM, like I was an idiot.
I'm off... thanks for the save!
